Today we are announcing a new partnership with OneTen, a coalition of chief executives and companies in the United States whose collective goal is to hire, promote and advance one million Black individuals without four-year college degrees into family-sustaining careers by 2030. Together, Multiverse and OneTen are committing to expanding access to training opportunities and jobs through tech apprenticeships at OneTen coalition companies.

Historically, access to jobs that pay family-sustaining wages, like those in technology, has been dependent upon a four-year college degree, which automatically disqualifies 76% of Black individuals(opens new window) over the age of 25. Apprenticeships provide an important alternative pathway to reskilling and upskilling individuals through their combination of education and paid, on-the-job training, and have been proven to bring adults into higher-wage careers(opens new window).

Multiverse’s mission has always been to create a diverse group of future leaders by building tech apprenticeships, alternative career pathways that equip young adults with the in-demand skills to access top careers. This partnership will help us create even more opportunities for Black individuals and extend the reach of apprenticeships across the country.

We are excited to join OneTen as an endorsed talent developer–joining an exceptional network of more than 100 education, career training and upskilling companies dedicated to supporting OneTen’s mission, and we look forward to scaling apprenticeships to adults throughout the US.

"I think the one of most intimidating problems of a young professional's career can be bridging the gap between where they are and where they want to be, career wise. Finding the resources to grow and develop can be challenging, but Multiverse really helped me clarify my professional vision and create a future I'm proud to walk into. By offering on-job training in technical analysis and giving me a job, I no longer have to choose between student loans and being my own man; I can do both! Even better, I've been able to align my personal values with my work. As an alumni of the 100 Black Men of America, it's been an honor of mine to have been able to align with the partnership of OneTen(opens new window), Multiverse, and Intermountain Healthcare - three organizations equally passionate about pairing people of all backgrounds with the resources they need to succeed in the professional world. It's truly an honor to be working as a Business Management Analyst through this opportunity, and I'm on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what the future holds.“ Jay Rhoney, Business Management Analyst Associate at Intermountain Healthcare, a OneTen Employer Partner

“As part of Intermountain Healthcare’s commitment to building a diverse and innovative culture, we are proud to launch a new program with OneTen and Multiverse to create new pathways for individuals to join, learn and grow without the need for a college degree or relevant experience. The joint effort will be an integral part of how our business continues to hire and train talent nationally." Tiffany Capeles, Chief Equity Officer at Intermountain Healthcare

“Multiverse is taking a differentiated approach to skills-based hiring and training, and we’re thrilled to have them join us as an endorsed talent developer to support our mission. With high-quality partners like Multiverse, we are helping companies understand that there is more than one pathway—including apprenticeships—to gain the relevant skills for a well-paying career or advancement. Approaches like this are not only better for business, but also positions us to achieve greater equity and inclusion in the long run.” Maurice Jones, CEO of OneTen
